Job summary

Moreton & Company is seeking a qualified professional in Salt Lake City to assist the Sales Executive in marketing, processing, and selling all lines of commercial insurance while providing technical support to achieve organizational objectives.

You will work with underwriters and clients to understand coverage needs, prepare submissions, and help manage risk across diverse lines of business. A Utah license and relevant experience are required, with opportunities for designation pursuit.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Must be thorough and accurate.
• Ability to understand and analyze commercial lines coverage, forms, rating, and policies.
• Holds a current Utah Producer Property/Casualty license or will obtain it within three months of hire or promotion.
• Prior insurance industry experience of at least three to five years required.

Responsibilities

• Understand structure and content of insurance contracts, including exclusions and terms.
• Be aware of major insurance coverages.
• Knowledge of key coverages: General Liability/Products Liability, Commercial Automobile, WC, Property, Business Income and Umbrella.
• Knowledge of premium rating methods and audits.
• Understand loss information, loss forecasting, collateral and accruals.
• Understand exposure information and its applications.
• Develop and produce submissions on coverages, including more complex coverages.
• Place standard coverages with limited assistance.
• Understand underwriter’s perspective on coverage/placement issues.
• Analyze and compare policies.
• Pursue a designation(s) in CPCU, CIC, CRM or ARM

SUMMARY

To assist the Sales Executive in marketing, processing, and selling all lines of commercial insurance and to provide technical support in accordance with the objectives and procedures outlined by the organization through the Quality Control Coordinator.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITES

• Awareness of most insurance coverages
