Job description

We are seeking an Account Manager to join our growing Employee Benefits team. This position supports clients under the guidance of the Account Executive. A successful candidate must demonstrate professionalism, self-direction, strong communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage client relationships effectively.


What You'll Do


  • Support and embody IMA's core values
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion among all associates

Client Service


  • Maintain professional contact to foster client relationships
  • Research and resolve client issues promptly, including direct interactions
  • Review and advise on compliance matters, providing ongoing technical support
  • Interface independently with clients, vendors, and associates to resolve benefit program issues

Client Meetings


  • Participate in and potentially lead client and prospect meetings
  • Prepare meeting materials and document discussions and action items

Carrier and Vendor Management


  • Oversee new vendor/carrier implementations and manage renewals and enrollments
  • Review contractual documents and maintain contact with representatives to ensure issue resolution

Communication and Education


  • Train clients on available technology and resources
  • Develop employee communication strategies and create collateral to clarify benefit features
  • Lead informational sessions for participants

Training and Mentoring


  • Mentor and train fellow Account Managers
  • Participate actively in team operations and communicate updates effectively

You Should Have


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience
  • State life and health license
  • Proficiency in MS Office and related software
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Critical thinking and data analysis skills
  • Willingness to travel as needed
