Job summary

DW Distribution an SBP Brand is seeking an Account Manager to cover the DFW area, joining a values-based organization focused on serving people first and doing what’s right even when challenging.

The role emphasizes territory planning, account development, and collaboration with internal teams to meet objectives, grow accounts, and support marketing efforts. Strong relationship, negotiation, and CRM skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree from an accredited institution.
  • 10 years' experience in business-to-business sales may be substituted for educational requirement.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in outside sales in the Texas building supply and millwork industry.
  • Computer skills and proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Territory Management: lead account planning with objectives, targets and milestones.
  • Account Management: build relationships, visit Platinum/Gold customers weekly, identify growth.
  • Marketing/Training: support DW’s marketing activities and train customer staff.
  • Communication: respond promptly, share competitive information, meet deadlines.
  • General and Administrative: uphold company values and maintain records.

Essential Functions
Territory Management
  • Proactively leads an account planning process that develops performance objectives, financial targets and critical milestones
  • Establish business plan to meet your assigned objectives, goals and quotas
  • Utilizes customer stratification principles in territory and account planning
Account Management
  • Implements selling process with account planning and sales calls
  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts
  • Visits each assigned Platinum/Gold Customer once per week and develops appropriate call plan for all other assigned customers.
  • Identifies growth opportunities within existing accounts and target accounts.
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis
  • Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel
Marketing/Training
  • Supports and execute DW’s Sales and Marketing activities, including:
    • DW Shows
    • DW Dividend Program
    • Customer Promotions & Programs
  • Conducts product knowledge training sessions with customer’s sales staff on all applicable products
  • Merchandises each customer with updated samples, literature, and displays.
  • Engage vendor sales representatives and others within the company to aid in sales efforts
  • Used the company CRM tool to log activities within territory coverage.
Communication
  • Proper communication internally and externally, including prompt reviews and replies to email, voice mail and phone calls
  • Relays all competitive information to company management
  • Meet all required deadlines and proper follow-up and follow through on requests assigned or asked of the Account Manager.
General and Administrative
  • Supports the corporate vision, mission and values
  • Communicates effectively with various management and operational departments, informing and updating them regularly to guarantee that sales and customer objectives are met
  • Complies with all OSHA safety requirements, work rules and regulations
  • Compiles and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
  • Follows systems and procedures outlined in company manuals
  • Participates as a team player by supporting operations as needed
  • All other duties as requested by management
Qualifications
Formal Education and Certification
  • Four-year college degree from an accredited institution
  • 10 years' experience in business-to-business sales may be substituted for educational requirement
Knowledge and Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in business-to-business sales
