Job Description
Title: Account Manager Associate - Commercial Lines

Remote | Supporting our Gainesville, GA Branch | Book Focus: Franchised Dealerships, Construction, Manufacturing & Distribution, Cyber

About the Role:

Provide administrative and customer service support to the account team, Producer, and/or assigned group of accounts. Work with minimal direction from an Account Manager, Account Executive, or Producer, ensuring standards are met and liabilities are protected. Independently resolve moderately complex customer service issues and manage smaller or less complex accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.
  • Assist in directing daily activities of support staff and team members.
  • Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
  • Manage policy expirations and renewals.
  • Conduct client research, gather underwriting info, analyze loss runs, prepare submissions, evaluate and negotiate coverages and pricing, present proposals, bind coverage, and follow up for policy issuance.
  • Process tasks accurately and timely.
  • Review contracts to ensure proper coverages.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and collect outstanding balances.
  • Maintain agency management systems and carrier platforms for data accuracy.
  • Monitor activity/suspense to ensure timely completion.
  • Communicate regularly with the team regarding workload and issues.
  • Deliver excellent service, anticipate needs, and respond promptly.
  • Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
  • Seek continuous improvement and best practices.
  • Demonstrate integrity and leadership, embodying IOA values.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of customer service experience in insurance.
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs.
  • Active licensing required; professional designation preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
