The Account Manager I manages and retains assigned customer accounts after the initial sale by building strong relationships, supporting customer satisfaction, resolving service or product-related issues, and identifying opportunities for organic account growth through increased product usage and additional product-line opportunities.
Essential Functions
- Manage and retain assigned customer accounts by maintaining strong relationships and supporting customer satisfaction.
- Identify organic growth opportunities, including increased product usage, expanded services, and additional product lines.
- Attend customer meetings, assess needs, and recommend products or services that support customer business plans.
- Maintain customer contracts through service coordination, pricing support, delivery follow-up, and issue resolution.
- Prepare proposals, quotations, presentations, and follow-up plans to support account retention and growth.
- Provide routine technical support, field analysis, and sample-collection assistance as needed.
- Partner with service, delivery, and internal teams to support account execution and customer service needs.
- Provide management updates on customer needs, issues, retention risks, competitive activity, and growth opportunities.
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of oilfield service, account management, technical service, or related sales experience
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other business systems as required.
- Sales-driven, self-motivated, and able to deliver results with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, time management, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to understand customer business needs, identify opportunities, and recommend appropriate products, services, or solutions.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage deadlines, prioritize responsibilities, and support multiple customer accounts.
Environmental Restrictions
- Ability to perform essential job duties in both indoor and outdoor environments, including offices, facilities, and external job sites.
- Regular exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, moving equipment, and uneven terrain.
- Physical requirements may include sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, and operating tools or equipment as necessary to perform job responsibilities.
