This position has a grade of 12 and reports to the Region Sales Manager - Western USA.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for expanding our installed base and gaining new market share within the Process Automation ENERGY segment in the IA, MN, NE, SD, ND, WY, MT territory. Reporting to the Western Regional Sales Manager, you will coordinate sales activities, creating value for customers and ABB by selling process control, power management, excitation power/controls, digital analytic, and cybersecurity engineered solutions. Our ENERGY segment includes Utility, Oil, Gas, Chemical, Alternative Fuels, Pharma, and Water/Wastewater sectors. The work model for this role is remote.

  • Leading the development and implementation of the account plan and growth actions.
  • Gaining new logos and converting competitive installed base customers to ABB process automation.
  • Providing solutions aligned with our volume, mix, and profitability targets.
  • Selling “Customer Care Contracts” to enhance the customers’ aftermarket experience.
  • Driving Action Plans and Pursuit Plans to increase market share.
Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 3+ years of experience in customer-facing roles related to control, power, or digital technology.
  • Proficiency in CRM and MS Office Suite.
  • Expertise in networks and digital solutions is a plus.
  • Experience in strategic selling and solution-based sales to targeted customer accounts.
  • Understanding of DCS, PLC/SCADA, Power Management (Medium and Low Voltage).
  • Experience with software services, cybersecurity solutions, field service contracts, etc.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Travel required - approximately 50%.
  • Legal work authorization in the US is required.
