Account Manager
Role Overview
The Account Manager will drive category growth through strategic planning, market insights, cross-functional collaboration, and effective retailer partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Analysis: Develop actionable category playbooks, analyze sales and margin performance, identify market trends using tools like WGSN and Trendalytics, and align sourcing capabilities with strategy.
- Retailer Partnerships: Build strong retailer relationships, deliver data-driven presentations, and influence category decisions to unlock growth opportunities.
- Product Development Alignment: Collaborate with Design and Sourcing teams to define assortment architecture, align on cost and lead times, and address retailer needs through strategic product roadmaps.
- Financial Performance: Conduct financial analysis, track sales and inventory performance, and recommend improvements to optimize business outcomes.
- Project Timeline Management: Builds and tracks timing and action deliverables to meet customer and manufacturing needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Merchandising, Marketing, or related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in category management, account management, or merchandising.
- Strong analytical, communication, and financial skills.
- Proficiency in tools like WGSN, Trendalytics, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Confidence in working with retail and global based partners
- Must be able to interface directly with Target, Walmart, and other retailers.
- Must be approved to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working at or with Walmart of Target.
- Fashion category experience
Compensation and Benefits
- This contractor position offers a monthly fee based on experience and skills.
- Job related travel expenses and necessary software are reimbursed by the company.
- This position is remote with preference to the Minneapolis St. Paul Metropolitan or Bentonville areas.
- Domestic travel is required 15-25% of the time.
