Job summary

Cook & Boardman, LLC in Durham, NC seeks an Account Manager to advise clients on Audio-Visual needs, develop proposals, and coordinate with internal teams to deliver integrated AV solutions.

You will manage relationships with contractors and clients, conduct onsite and virtual presentations, prepare proposals and RFP responses, and maintain accurate CRM data while staying informed on technology trends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of sales/account management or estimating experience in security integration, low-voltage, or construction industries preferred.
• Knowledge of Audio-Visual systems and ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with customers, general contractors, and construction managers across assigned accounts and territories.
• Identify and qualify opportunities for Audio-Visual systems through proactive outreach and territory management.
• Conduct onsite and virtual presentations highlighting capabilities in AV solutions.
• Coordinate proposals with internal brands and divisions to align access control and opening requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and estimating teams for scopes, pricing, and timelines.
• Prepare and deliver professional proposals, RFP responses, quotes, and technical documentation with marketing and leadership.
• Manage sales pipeline and CRM data integrity in ConnectWise or similar tools.
• Stay informed on product developments, emerging technologies, and competitor activity in AV markets.
• Facilitate handoffs to project and operations teams for smooth execution.
• Attend sales meetings and training initiatives, including ConnectWise platforms.

As an Account Manager, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients, identifying their Audio-Visual needs. This role requires a combination of consultative sales expertise, technical acumen, and strong project coordination with internal teams.

Essential Functions

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, general contractors, and construction managers across assigned accounts and territories
• Identify and qualify opportunities for Audio-Visual Systems through proactive outreach, referrals, and territory management
• Conduct onsite and virtual presentations that highlight the company’s capabilities in Audio-Visual solutions
• Partner with the internal brands and divisions to ensure coordinated proposals that align access control and physical opening requirements
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and estimating teams to prepare accurate scopes, pricing, and timelines
• Prepare and deliver professional proposals, RFP responses, quotes, and technical documentation in coordination with marketing and leadership
• Manage sales pipeline and activity in CRM tools (e.g., ConnectWise or similar), ensuring data integrity and compliance with company processes
• Stay informed of product developments, emerging technologies, and competitor activity within the Audio-Visual markets
• Facilitate handoffs to project and operations teams, ensuring smooth transitions from sale to execution
• Participate in regular sales meetings and training initiatives, including continued education through internal platforms (e.g., ConnectWise)
• Other relative duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, or a related field is preferred
• 3+ years of experience in sales, account management, or estimating in the security integration, low-voltage, or construction industry preferred

• Understanding of Audio-Visual systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and specifications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Excellent organizational, time management, and follow-up skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
