Account Executive Sr. - Neuromuscular (AE) – Harrisburg, PA
To strengthen and support our upcoming launches within the US Rare Disease Organization (RDO), we seek an Account Executive Senior in the neuromuscular space. The AE will be an expert on local practices, delivery networks, and patient populations, representing UCB and transforming the lives of those living with rare diseases. The role involves building relationships with physicians, clinics, payers, and advocacy groups, executing marketing and sales strategies, and delivering high‑impact customer experiences across multiple channels.
Responsibilities
- Consistently exceed territory sales objectives while upholding the highest level of ethics and integrity.
- Advocate for rare disease patients and serve as the authority on UCB tools and resources for healthcare providers.
- Create and execute strategic business plans reflecting a deep understanding of local market conditions.
- Master targeted disease states, including patient journeys, standards of care, and treatment drivers.
- Continuously expand expertise of treating and referring physicians, payers, hospital systems, pharmacies, and other components of the care continuum.
- Maintain strong relationships within the payer landscape to ensure providers are informed on coverage and reimbursement status.
- Collaborate with payer access teams to provide updated information that maximizes access and affordability for patients.
- Foster strong relationships with patient advocacy groups and partner to support education and disease‑state awareness activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 8+ years of field‑based experience in sales, account management, or field reimbursement in biopharmaceuticals or healthcare, including 5+ years in a competitive specialty market segment.
- 4+ years of rare‑disease experience in pharmaceuticals/biologics, including Buy‑and‑Bill medical benefits, Specialty Pharmacy, and HUB delivery models.
- Verifiable record of sustained high sales performance and achievement in the top 30% nationally.
- Experience or involvement in successful product launches.
- Ability to maximize impact of multichannel/digital tools and strategies with territorial HCPs.
- Command of key medical, scientific, and healthcare concepts related to neurology and rare diseases.
- Experience serving a variety of call points – academic centers, community‑based care, hospitals, and private office practices.
- Comfortable spending up to 60% of time traveling with overnight travel required (depending on territory business needs).
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years of rare/orphan drug experience in a competitive market.
- Significant CNS/neuroscience sales experience, including epilepsy.
- Experience with oncology, hematology, and/or specialty reimbursement products requiring specialty pharmacy knowledge.
- Participation in recent successful product launches.
- Experience supporting biologic therapy administered by a designated health‑care provider.
- Promotional product experience with REMS requirements.
Compensation
Base salary range is $160,000 - $210,000, subject to related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
Work Environment
Roles are hybrid, with approximately 40% of time spent in the office, unless otherwise specified.
