Job summary

Bio-Techne seeks a territorial Account Executive to drive sales for the Spatial Biology product line in a Maryland territory. You will acquire new customers, manage pipeline, deliver technical presentations, and forecast revenue while partnering with Field Applications Scientists and Marketing.

Candidate will travel up to 60% of the time, conduct pre-call planning, maintain CRM hygiene in Salesforce, and represent the Spatial brand with scientific rigor to advance customer workflows.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of field-based life science sales experience in academic, government, biotech, or pharma environments preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Proficiency with Salesforce.com or similar CRM platforms and ability to forecast and manage funnel

Overview

Bio-Techne empowers cutting-edge research in Life Sciences and Clinical Diagnostics by providing tools for researchers worldwide. This role focuses on driving sales for Bio-Techne’s Spatial Biology product line within an assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Achieve quota attainment against territory revenue targets.
• Acquire new customers (new principal investigators, labs, and accounts) and manage pipeline coverage.
• Maintain CRM hygiene, forecast accuracy, and activity metrics.
• Develop and execute strategic territory and account plans; conduct pre-call planning for customer meetings.
• Spend time in the field with customers, prioritizing high-potential accounts.
• Prospect and generate new customer leads through field visits, calls, email, and trade-show engagement.
• Qualify inbound leads with internal partners and convert them into active pipeline opportunities.
• Accurately forecast sales, maintain Salesforce.com records, and manage the sales cycle from initial contact to close.
• Deliver technical and scientific presentations on Spatial Biology products (RNAscope, BaseScope, miRNAscope, HiPlex, Multiomic, ProximityScope) and match solutions to customer workflows.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers at bench, lab-head, and department levels; demonstrate scientific knowledge to drive a collaborative, consultative sales process.
• Represent the Bio-Techne Spatial brand in the marketplace and partner cross-functionally with Field Applications Scientists, Marketing, Customer Service, and Product Management.
• Support team goals, share wins and lessons learned, and contribute to company success.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Molecular Biology or related life science field.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of field-based life science sales experience. Experience selling into academic, government, biotech, or pharma research environments preferred.
• Skills: Working knowledge of RNA sequencing, transcriptomics, in situ hybridization, and molecular biology fundamentals.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication; ability to multi-task and prioritize; detail-oriented and collaborative team player.
• Proficiency with Salesforce.com or similar CRM platforms.

Working Conditions

• Primarily field-based with regular travel within the assigned territory (up to 60%); flexibility to work remotely as needed.
• Occasional evening or weekend work aligned with customer availability, trade shows, or scientific events.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory (up to 60%).
• Capability to transport and set up demonstration materials and equipment.
• Extended periods of standing or walking during conferences, trade shows, and customer visits.
