The Account Executive (AE) is an inside sales position supporting the South Atlantic market area, with the flexibility to work from home. This role is a combo hunter/farmer, responsible for acquiring new business and retaining existing accounts. Candidates should be experienced in B2B sales, comfortable with cold calling and prospecting, and capable of managing a book of business.

Job Description

External candidates must be based in NC, SC, or GA. Internal candidates may also be based in Tupelo, MS, or Phoenix, AZ.

I. Job Summary

The AE generates shareholder value through a consultative retention approach for larger or complex SMB WM customers within an assigned territory. Responsibilities include managing relationships, achieving retention goals, negotiating contracts, and growing revenue from existing customers to ensure positive business performance aligned with WM's growth objectives.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Customer interaction: Manage customer accounts, ensure satisfaction, and build strong relationships.
  • Align WM services with customer needs, propose compliant solutions, and increase account penetration.
  • Negotiate and renew contracts, educate customers on contract details, and handle escalations.
  • Communicate rates and service strategies effectively, using customer incentives within profit targets.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and pursue new opportunities.
  • Administrative work: Use sales tools (e.g., Salesforce), prepare reports, and handle administrative duties.
III. Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

IV. Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 year WM experience or 5 years B2B account management.
  • Skills include relationship building, goal setting, time management, negotiation, financial acumen, and effective communication.
Work Environment

Primarily office setting; may require light physical effort and motor coordination.

Compensation & Benefits

Base pay is $23.75/hr, plus potential commissions. Benefits include health insurance, 401K, stock purchase, paid time off, and educational support.
