Job description

We’re excited to be working with a RETAIL-GROCERY TECHNOLOGY company seeking a Retail Account Executive/Territory Sales Manager to handle their best grocery clients in Oregon and Northern California. This partner company is independently run and treats their employees like family. If you’re looking to be more than a number and have a place to call home read on.

Accounts are mainly independent, specialty or family run grocers. It’s a technology company, tech sales/tech savvy is necessary, they can train on their specific products. They need someone who knows territory sales and can sell with integrity and credibility.

WHO THEY ARE

Our client is a locally owned technology reseller headquartered in the Pacific North West, that sells, installs, and services point-of-sale and other technology systems in support of independent grocers across the Western United States and Alaska. They install and support traditional checkout lanes, self-checkout lanes, electronic shelf labels, networking equipment, and the software that runs these independent stores.

The typical dollar amount of the sale for new equipment is $20,000 to $100,000.

Products they sell and support:

  1. Grocery point-of-sale (POS) and back-office software:
    1. POS applications
    2. Microsoft Windows
    3. BRdata back-office application
    4. Connected Payments
  2. Grocery point-of-sale (POS) and other hardware:
    1. Traditional POS Lane hardware (computers, screens, printers, hand scanners, etc.)
    2. Self-Checkout
    3. Network Management, including access points, routers, switches, and managed firewalls
    4. Electronic shelf labels
WHO YOU ARE

Top line - You are tech-savvy, and have sold to retail, B2B or worked in the Point-of-Sale industry and have 5+ years of sales experience. You thrive in a competitive environment with a strong work ethic and a go-getter attitude.

The Territory Sales Manager/Account Executive is responsible for maintaining existing customers and prospecting for new opportunities in the states of Oregon and Northern California. They have a large existing customer base to call on as references and for additional sales. They take a professional consulting approach to selling, working as partners to customers, with relationships that are long-term and not transactional. There is an incredible support staff with over 200 years of combined experience to assist the Territory Sales Manager/Account Executive in successful demonstrations and implementations.

The Territory Sales Manager/Account Executive will be expected to keep up to date on new hardware and software technologies in their suite of offerings.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
  1. Selling Point of Sale Hardware, Software and Services to independent retailers throughout the Oregon and Northern California.
  2. Follow the sales process to ensure success.
  3. Achieve/exceed sales goals.
  4. Maximize market potential by maintaining existing accounts and growing market share.
  5. Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information.
  6. Prepare proposals/quotes, understand, and manage profit margins, along with presenting purchasing/financing options to the client.
  7. Effectively sell in a long sales cycle environment.
  8. Manage many open/active sales accounts.
  9. Remain current on product knowledge, marketing and industry trends and competitors.
  10. Attend educational/vendor training, trade shows, networking venues, etc.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR/ REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. 3-5+ years’ experience selling to Retail, B2B, Independent Grocers OR Point of Sale technology
  2. Willingness to travel a large territory by car. Frequent travel is expected and reimbursed.
  3. Marketing/sales degree strongly preferred.
  4. Must be motivated and confident.
  5. Exceptional communication, client service, time management and organizational skills required.
  1. Spanish fluency preferred; English fluency required
  2. Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license & clean driving record
  3. Working knowledge of PCs and Microsoft Windows (Excel, Word, Email, etc.)
  4. Ability to work alone and in a team environment
