Job Description
Red Thread PR is seeking a PR Account Executive to join our growing team. We are looking for an independent, self‑starter who excels in consumer and corporate communications, earned media and written communications, and account management. They must have 3‑4 years' PR agency experience with a keen focus on supporting corporate communications, executive communications and media relations across both B‑to‑B and consumer brands. Candidates must be based in the Philadelphia area and be able to work in person at our Center City office one day per week.

Role Responsibilities
- Support the team in day‑to‑day responsibilities of 4‑5 accounts.
- Provide thoughtful, forward‑thinking communications counsel to the client and account team.
- Actively communicate with clients and account team daily; proactively address opportunities and challenges.
- Partner with the account team to manage fast‑moving projects and timelines.
- Participate in client calls with the team as well as independently and directly with the client team.
- Provide strategic input, analysis and feedback on client calls in addition to providing updates.
- Support strategic plans that reflect the client's goals and objectives and demonstrate modern tactics reflective of the brand.
- Support communications for internal and external stakeholders.
- Regularly audit clients' existing internal and external communications platforms and content; provide strategic recommendations to optimize content and channels.
- Proactively search for story opportunities and proactively pitch and place stories in national, regional and trade media.
- Monitor media daily and identify topics of interest to the team and clients.
- Conduct media outreach against strategic plan, focusing on high‑value media targets; build and maintain personal network of meaningful media relationships.
- Brief clients on anticipated topics and themes of interviews and appearances and prepare interview briefing materials and talking points.
- Create press materials including news releases, toolkits, media advisories, fact sheets, newsletters, byline articles, case studies, speeches that reflect the client's brand and key messages.
- Coordinate award submissions and speaking opportunities.
- Deliver executional excellence across all PR tactics, including but not limited to: regional and national media relations, event planning and management, community relations, content development, internal comms, message development, speaking engagements, other outreach.
- Manage timelines and deliverables for assigned workstreams.
- Manage reporting and merchandising of client work, communicate results to clients regularly.
- Keep abreast of PR industry trends, best practices, new media and evolving technologies and tactics, and educate the account team.
- Stay current and gain proficiency on new software platforms that impact the practice of PR.
- Stay current and add to personal understanding of issues, processes, terms, products, and regulations specific to client's industry. Master complex issues that impact client business and industry.
Qualifications
- 3‑4 years of experience in a public relations role – agency or in‑house/client‑side PR experience.
- Undergraduate degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a similar major.
- Demonstrated corporate communications expertise.
- Demonstrated expertise across:
- Media relations
- Community relations
- Internal and external communications
- Demonstrated media relations expertise featuring B‑to‑B and B‑to‑C clients.
- Experience working with insurance, healthcare, and/or building trades.
- Experience planning and executing PESO communications plans.
- Experience working on an integrated agency team or association‑related experience is a plus.
- Experience collaborating closely with the client team is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and media‑monitoring tools such as MuckRack, Sprout, Brandwatch, Meltwater.
