Job summary

KSBY, the E.W. Scripps NBC affiliate serving California's Central Coast, is seeking an Account Executive to join our sales team. You'll partner with local businesses to create customized, multi-platform advertising solutions across TV, OTT/CTV, digital, social, and search.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of sales experience, a Bachelor's degree preferred, and strong consultative selling skills. You will manage a pipeline, prospect new clients, and close opportunities while delivering measurable

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2+ years of successful sales experience preferred.
  • Experience in strategic account management, broadcast advertising, digital marketing solutions, or media sales preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Sell multi-platform advertising solutions to local and regional businesses.
  • Use SSP to identify needs and recommend marketing solutions.
  • Promote digital products along with TV advertising.
  • Prospect, secure appointments, conduct needs analyses, and close new business.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with advertisers.
  • Analyze ratings data and market trends to maximize revenue.
  • Serve as trusted advisor and deliver customer service.
  • Prepare presentations, proposals, and advertising recommendations.
  • Manage a healthy sales pipeline in CRM and hit KPIs.
  • Collaborate on campaign development, concepts, and production.
  • Build long-term account growth opportunities.
  • Handle account maintenance: makegoods, credits, collections, revenue tracking.
  • Maintain accurate client records and revenue forecasts.
  • Communicate status to sales leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

KSBY, the E.W. Scripps NBC affiliate serving California's beautiful Central Coast, is seeking a motivated and results-driven Account Executive to join our sales team. We're looking for a sales professional with experience in local direct business-to-business sales, preferably within media, advertising, marketing, or related industries. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing transactional business, developing strong client relationships, and consistently driving new business growth. In this role, you'll partner with local businesses to create customized, multi-platform advertising solutions that deliver measurable results through television, OTT/CTV, digital advertising, social media, search marketing, and more. WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Sell multi-platform advertising solutions to local and regional businesses and advertising agencies.
  • Utilize the Scripps Sales Process (SSP) to identify customer needs and recommend customized marketing solutions.
  • Promote the full suite of digital advertising products in addition to traditional television advertising.
  • Prospect, secure appointments, conduct needs analyses, create presentations, and close new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with traditional and non-traditional advertisers.
  • Analyze ratings data, market trends, and audience insights to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and advertising recommendations.
  • Manage and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through CRM tools while achieving key performance metrics.
  • Collaborate on campaign development, creative concepts, storyboards, and production elements.
  • Build strong client partnerships and develop long-term account growth opportunities.
  • Handle account maintenance activities including makegoods, credit applications, collections, and revenue tracking.
  • Maintain accurate client records and sales activity within CRM systems.
  • Communicate account status and revenue forecasts to sales leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of successful sales experience preferred.
  • Experience with strategic account management, broadcast advertising, digital marketing solutions, or media sales preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of insurance meeting company requirements.

COMPENSATION RANGE:

Annual Salary: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00

Pursuant to state and local salary transparency laws, the salary range posted is specific to candidates who will perform this work in California.
