Job description

Our client, an Agency located in the Kansas City Metropolitan area is seeking an Account Executive to join their team. In this role, you own the day-to-day execution of your clients' marketing initiatives and are a primary point of contact for the work.

In this role, you will be the master of project initiation, organization, management, and execution - taking tactics from brief to launch and keeping clients and internal teams aligned along the way. You own the projects on your accounts: you are accountable for their quality, pace, and accuracy from first brief to final delivery.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for assigned client work, in partnership with Account Supervisors and Directors.
  • Initiate and manage a wide variety of tactics (print, digital, web, media, event/tradeshow, PR, etc.) end-to-end, from development to launch.
  • Own clear, timely, professional communication with clients and internal teams across channels.
  • Write project initiation forms and program proposals that support client needs and inspire creative team collaboration.
  • Build and manage project timelines.
  • Develop and manage accurate project estimates; monitor budgets, and reconcile against scope.
  • Partner with Creative and Content teams to provide the insight and direction needed to develop strong work.
  • Ensure work delivered to the client meets Client and Agency quality standards.
  • Spot and flag organic growth opportunities on your accounts.
  • Represent Agency interests with clients, partners, and vendors; ensure compliance with all Agency policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in a marketing role - agency-side or corporate marketing/communications.
  • Client-facing experience: prior roles requiring direct client or stakeholder communication - presenting in person and in writing, and owning the coordination behind it (correspondence, meeting summaries, follow-through).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects end to end - on time and on budget.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills (including listening).
  • Business acumen (financial, marketing, and strategic) to interface effectively internally and externally.
  • A mind for the details - adaptable, accountable, and growth-minded.
  • Curious and resourceful: self-motivated to build expertise, run down unanswered questions, and think critically and independently.
  • Proactively self-managed: prioritizes well, keeps your own workload on track, and communicates up early - no surprises.
  • Confident in peer-level communication, with the ability to step up and lead in team settings when needed.
Preferred Background
  • Experience in animal health/pet healthcare, financial services, or health and beauty.
  • Familiarity with technical or regulated subject matter.
  • Agency-side experience across multiple tactic types.
  • A degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
What Success Looks Like
  • Projects on your accounts launch on time, on budget, and to Client and Agency quality standards.
  • Clients rely on you as a responsive, dependable day-to-day partner for the work.
  • Estimates and budgets you manage are accurate and reconciled to scope.
  • Success is measured by the quality of the end deliverable, which equals a sum of Client and Agency team satisfaction.
