Job description

Brainfish is building AI for complex operational work.

Our technology combines deep company knowledge with reliable execution across systems. Brainfish powers AI support agents that understand complex products and resolve sophisticated customer issues, while our workflow builder lets teams automate operational workflows using natural language, AI agents and code-based execution.

Together, they help companies move beyond basic AI chatbots and automate work that previously required deep product knowledge, human judgment and coordination across multiple tools.

Backed by Prosus Ventures and Peak XV with $10M in funding, we're an Australian-founded company growing rapidly in the US, our fastest-growing market. Since launching Ballet, our AI workflow orchestration tool, we've seen our strongest enterprise conviction yet, and we're bringing on Account Executives to help us turn that into a repeatable, scalable motion.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll join our early US commercial team and take real ownership of opportunities from first conversation through close.

Pipeline generation is becoming more consistent through our SDR team, marketing and inbound. What we need now is someone who can take a qualified opportunity and close it: running deep discovery, multithreading to the real economic buyer, creating genuine urgency, and driving deals through procurement without needing a founder on every call. Today, our CEO is closing deals himself while running the company. This role exists to take that off his plate and scale it.

We sell agentic AI and workflow orchestration to increasingly sophisticated buyers. That means you need to be credible on what the technology actually does, not just what it says on the slide; this isn't a role for someone who's only ever pitched a basic chatbot.

What you'll own
  • Own the full sales cycle from qualified opportunity through procurement and signature, independently.
  • Run discovery that uncovers the real decision-maker and the real timeline, early, so deals don't stall for reasons that should've been caught on call one.
  • Sell complex AI and automation products to multi-stakeholder organizations, building compelling business cases around cost savings, productivity and operational leverage.
  • Speak credibly to technical buyers about how agentic workflows actually work, because you've built or used systems like the ones we sell.
  • Create urgency through value and conviction, not discounting, and know exactly why any deal in your pipeline is or isn't going to close, at any moment.
  • Partner with the CEO to refine positioning, qualification, pricing and sales strategy as we scale the team.
  • Feed customer and competitive insights directly into Product and Marketing.
Who You Are
  • Closer: You've carried and exceeded a quota for 4+ years, and you know how to move a deal from genuine interest to signature: creating urgency, managing procurement and legal friction, and not letting deals drag on unearned optimism.
  • AI-Forward (not just curious): You've built, used, and ideally scaled real AI workflows or systems, well beyond basic chatbot use. This could be automating your own pipeline reporting, prospecting, or forecasting with LLMs; building an agent or workflow tool yourself; or having sold AI/automation capability deeply enough to explain how it actually works under the hood to a technical buyer. Ideally you've done this from both sides, as a hands-on builder/user of AI tools and as someone who has sold that capability. You should be able to walk us through a specific system you built, used, or scaled and speak to the real tradeoffs, not just the pitch.
  • Builder: You thrive in an early-stage environment where you create the structure rather than follow one. You act with high velocity and minimal oversight.
  • Strategist: You map accounts before you sell into them, identifying the real buyer, the influencers, and the trigger that makes now the right time, rather than pitching whoever picked up the phone.
Nice to Haves
  • Experience as an early hire at a successful scale-up.
  • Experience closing six-figure opportunities.
  • Previous success selling disruptive AI, automation, CX, support or developer-focused technology.
  • A personal or professional AI workflow/agent project you've built and can show us, even informally.
  • Strategic account-mapping and multithreading experience, particularly in complex or enterprise sales.
  • Based on the West Coast or able to work primarily Pacific Time.
