Job Description

Plans, evaluates, and monitors the delivery of service commitments for a book of business to ensure risk control services are delivered effectively and efficiently. Assesses the customer's overall risk for underwriting purposes and to manage sources of risk, losses, and costs. Develops effective relationships with customers, business partners, and peers to coordinate service arrangements, programs, and procedures. Handles special customer situations to ensure timely resolution. Conducts workload reviews and completes specialized customer reports. Performs prospecting and service work as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and monitors service commitments for assigned customers to ensure effective and efficient risk control services that meet departmental, business unit, or market expectations. Evaluates customer prospects, service levels, workload, and regional capacity.
  • Creates service plans to document baseline activities, metrics, and goals to track progress in reducing losses and demonstrate value. Monitors and documents service levels.
  • Assists in acquiring and retaining profitable business by providing consultation, information, and analysis to the account team for new business and renewals. Keeps relevant teams informed of significant changes in customer operations or organizational structure. Participates in prospecting and developing service agreements to foster partnerships and strengthen relationships.
  • Evaluates resource use, service quality, program utilization, productivity, and other indicators. Identifies opportunities for improvement and may design projects to enhance results and service offerings.
  • Provides major loss source analyses, products, and training.
  • Fulfills risk assessment and service requirements as assigned.
  • Trains employees in service-related functions and activities. Designs and implements customer training programs. Delivers presentations at training and other functions.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership, planning, relationship-building, consulting, customer service, and communication skills, including presentation, persuasion, and writing abilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of loss prevention principles, practices, and core service capabilities related to performance and profitability.
  • Ability to retrieve and input information using proprietary software and to create/modify documents and spreadsheets with Microsoft Office.
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in math, engineering, or related fields, with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience in Risk Control or safety/health fields, and an advanced degree or professional certifications such as CSP, ARM, CRM, CPCU, CIH, or CPE.
  • Travel may be required.
