Nelson Connects is seeking an Assistant Accountant in St. Helena, CA, to join a close-knit accounting team. Grow your career with hands-on exposure to reconciliations, AP, payroll, and cost accounting in a winery setting.

You will collaborate with experienced professionals, support month-end activities, and contribute to meaningful accounting projects while expanding your skill set. Hybrid flexibility offered after onboarding.

Formación

• 3–5 years of accounting experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and lookup functions.

Responsabilidades

• Support bank and balance sheet reconciliations and assist with month-end close.
• Assist with accounts payable, invoice processing, coding, and vendor maintenance.
• Process payroll and employee expense reporting, as needed.
• Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate general ledgers.
• Assist with inventory reconciliations and cost accounting activities.
• Identify discrepancies, research issues, and suggest process improvements.
• Support ERP system implementation and related testing.

I’m working with an established winery group in St. Helena that’s looking to add an Assistant Accountant to its close-knit accounting team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has a foundation in accounting and wants to continue developing their skills in a collaborative environment. You’ll work alongside an experienced team, gain exposure to different areas of accounting, and have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while continuing to grow professionally.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support bank and balance sheet reconciliations and assist with month-end accounting activities.
• Help manage accounts payable, including invoice processing, coding, and vendor account maintenance.
• Assist with payment processing, payroll accounting, and employee expense reporting.
• Prepare journal entries and help maintain accurate general ledger records.
• Work with the team on inventory reconciliations and cost accounting activities.
• Help identify discrepancies, research issues, and find ways to improve processes.
• Participate in the implementation of a new accounting system, gaining valuable exposure to system testing and process improvements.
• Collaborate with colleagues across accounting and operations while learning the ins and outs of the business.

Compensation:
