Job summary

Crimson Wine Group is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the general ledger, accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. This role owns the month-end close in line with corporate standards and partners with managers across the organization.

You will support budgeting and forecasting, coordinate with external auditors, maintain GAAP/SOX controls, and mentor accounting staff. This is a leadership position with a focus on accuracy and process improvements.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for providing professional leadership for the key accounting functions: general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. The Accounting Manager will own the month end close process consistent with corporate standards to ensure that financial information is timely, accurate, and complete. The position supports the Senior Director of Accounting but is also a highly visible role throughout the organization and will partner with all managers on a regular basis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Help lead the general accounting team, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets and the general ledger.
• Execute the accurate and timely completion of the month end, 5-day close process.
• Review and approve journal entries and all associated general ledger account reconciliations.
• Perform quarterly flux analysis on key general ledger accounts.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Coordinate with external auditors, including responding to requests and assisting in the preparation of audit schedules.
• Collaborate with other team members to support overall department goals and objectives.
• Support annual budgeting and forecasting process for accounting department and related expenses.
• Assist in managing key relationships with outside accountants, auditors and other professionals as required.
• Maintain, evaluate, and implement internal accounting controls compliant with SOX requirements.
• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly Sales Tax filings reconciliations.
• Review and oversee annual 1099 filings.
• Review and oversee annual property tax renewals and billings.
• Effectively manage and mentor staff; providing training, timely reviews and performance evaluations to continue their professional development within the organization.

EDUCATION TRAINING AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or other business related major required.
• CPG, food and beverage or related industry experience.
• Business Central software experience strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience in a comparable role.
• Strong understanding of accounting theory, GAAP, and SOX.
• Experience using AI-enabled tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, Power BI AI features, or similar technologies) to improve accounting processes, reporting, analysis, and productivity.
• Experience managing staff with demonstrated leadership and team development skills with the ability to influence outside sphere of control.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and advanced excel skills required.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy, with a high level of integrity.
• Ability to multitask and respond quickly and accurately to demanding situations with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
• Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written, with employees and external parties at all levels.
• Passion and curiosity for continuous process improvement.

The projected (base) pay range for this position is $115K to $130K per year in addition to annual bonus.

The above range/rate is the projected compensation for this position, however the actual compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as (but not limited to) candidate qualifications, related experience and education, candidate work location and market data.
