Job summary

GM is seeking an experienced engineering professional to lead the development of highly profitable accessories portfolios through the VDP execution phase, coordinating with the program team and cross-functional groups. You will drive leadership in program reviews, maintain scorecards, and facilitate approvals to integrate accessories into production vehicles while communicating status to Senior Leadership.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years in engineering functions at GM or equivalent.
• Design/release experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and self-motivation.
• Able to present to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering development of accessories portfolios in the VDP execution phase.
• Serve as key accessory contact to the program team.
• Support forums and reviews (VAPIR, PET, POPs, VPIT, CITs).
• Maintain program scorecards and report status at SMT milestones.
• Lead program engineering status reviews and integration into production vehicles.
• Drive approvals through DCRs and DCTA reviews.
• Manage workload input, PCAR, and cross-SMT escalations.
• Co-lead developing accessories brand/segment portfolio strategies.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering development of highly profitable accessories portfolios through the execution phase of the VDP (post DSI to SORP).
• Key accessory contact to program team.
• Support meeting forums as needed (VAPIR/PET/POPs/VPIT/ CITs).
• Maintain the program scorecard for engineering deliverables (e.g., Dot Chart) and report program status at SMT meetings during key program milestones.
• Lead program engineering status reviews.
• Lead the overall integration of accessories into the production vehicle.
• Drive project approvals through DCRs and DCTA reviews.
• Input, manage and communicate program workload and PCAR input.
• Coordinate program, studio and cross-SMT issue escalations.
• Co-lead developing and managing accessories brand/segment portfolio strategies.

Requirements

• BS Degree – Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering functions within GM or equivalent.
• Previous design / release experience strongly preferred.
• Good understanding of GVDP
• Flexibility to work in an evolving process.
• Process leader - knows how to lead changes to evolving processes.
• Strong leadership ability.
• High level of self-motivation
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and comfortable presenting/reporting to Senior Leadership
• Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time constraints.
• Ability to network and run effective meetings with diverse participants that collaborate cross-functionally and globally to reach consensus.
