Job summary
nFocus Solutions is seeking a Web Content Developer to support the Army University Press with development, remediation, and publication of high-quality content across digital platforms. The role focuses on converting InDesign publications to accessible HTML and PDF formats, using HTML5, CSS3, and WCAG standards.
The position emphasizes accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.1, PDF/UA, Section 508), UX/SEO best practices, and collaboration with stakeholders to deliver accessible content across CMS
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science, Web Design, Graphic Design, or related field.
- Experience converting InDesign publications into accessible HTML and PDF formats is desired.
- Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, WCAG, PDF/UA, and Section 508 accessibility standards.
- Experience with responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and semantic HTML.
- Proven proofreading, editing, and quality-control skills.
Responsibilities
- Convert and publish content from Adobe InDesign to accessible HTML and PDF formats.
- Develop, maintain, and edit clean, semantic HTML5 and CSS3 using code editors.
- Ensure all web and PDF content adhere to WCAG 2.1, PDF/UA, and Section 508 standards.
- Remediate PDFs using accessibility tools such as PAC 2024 Checker.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to promote digital accessibility across platforms.
- Manage content updates using DotNetNuke (DNN) or similar CMS.
