Job summary

FR Conversions is seeking an Automotive Test Driver to conduct controlled road tests on modified vehicles, ensuring safety, drivability, and quality before delivery. Tests range from 20 to 50 miles on predetermined routes; candidate communicates mechanical observations to the Quality Control team.

The role emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and independent work, with pre-employment screenings and a non-exempt, hourly, full-time schedule.

Qualifications

Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Above-basic automotive knowledge; capable of identifying mechanical and performance-related concerns.
Strong attention to detail with an unwavering focus on safety.

Responsibilities

Perform structured road tests of modified vehicles including wheelchair-accessible vans, ambulances, and specialty vehicles.
Adhere to company-designated test routes and driving procedures to ensure consistency across all test drives.
Evaluate vehicle performance for mechanical integrity, drivability, and safety compliance.
Document and report any unusual noises, vibrations, alignment issues, braking concerns, or other irregularities.
Coordinate findings with the Quality Control team and return vehicles for inspection when needed.
Operate all vehicles in accordance with local traffic laws and internal safety protocols.
Maintain accurate and timely logs of completed test drives and any defects noted.
Ensure vehicle cleanliness and readiness prior to customer delivery or shipment.
