Job summary

The Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) is seeking a Paratransit Operator to ensure safe, dependable transportation for passengers, including those with special needs. You will perform pre-trip inspections, operate Move vehicles, and support a patient, friendly service approach.

Responsibilities include enforcing safety rules, adhering to routes and schedules, aiding mobility-device users, and documenting daily rider data while complying with all regulations and corporate policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three years of licensed driving experience.
• Valid vehicle operator’s license with fewer than 6 points on current Driver's Abstract.
• Completion of required driver training and refresher courses.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily pre-trip inspections and complete inspection forms.
• Safely operate vehicles to transport passengers along designated routes.
• Maintain order and enforce safety rules during trips.
• Assist passengers with mobility devices and secure equipment.
• Record daily rider attendance for reporting purposes.
• Ensure compliance with traffic regulations and TARTA policies.
• Report maintenance issues promptly and ensure interior cleanliness.
• Attend driver meetings and applicable training workshops.
