Job summary

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston is seeking a Manager of Access and Wellbeing Programs to lead inclusive programs for visitors with disabilities across on-site, off-site, and virtual formats. You will supervise a volunteer access guides cohort and ensure welcoming, compliant experiences that address diverse needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years museum education or disability advocacy experience.
  • Understanding of pedagogy for diverse visitors and Universal Design.
  • Experience with ADA compliance and accessibility technologies.
  • Strong presentation and mentoring abilities.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent computer and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage access tours, wellbeing engagement, and specialized programs.
  • Collaborate with other departments for planning and evaluation.
  • Supervise volunteers and update training resources.
  • Recruitment and training of Access Volunteers.
  • Design ongoing evaluation and training schedules.
  • Lead wellbeing programs and tours as needed.
  • Maintain partnerships with local organizations.
  • Develop museum access tools and tactile collections.
  • Support accessibility reviews of exhibitions and digital accessibility.
  • Provide staff training on universal design.
