Job summary

Barstow Community College seeks an experienced ACCESS program assistant to provide assistive technology, testing support, and accommodations for students with disabilities. You will help recruit and train staff, coordinate interpreters, and guide faculty in using adaptive tools across campus.

Responsibilities include testing administration, scheduling accommodations, and presenting program resources to students, staff, and the campus community. A Bachelor’s in special education is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in secondary or special education.
• Two years of experience working with disabled students.
• Experience with assistive technology and related software is required.
• ADA, Title V Regulations, Olmstead Act (2002) and Rehabilitation Act familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized technical student services, testing, and accommodation for ACCESS participants.
• Schedule testing in ACCESS and TLSC with distraction-reduced rooms.
• Arrange accommodations resulting from recommendations and coordinate resources.
• Conduct presentations about the program, goals, and resources to students.
• Assist with program registration, orientations, and outreach activities; communicate with the ACCESS administrator.
