Job summary

Lifeway Mobility in Detroit, MI is seeking an Accessibility Installation Technician to join a hands-on team. You’ll load the company vehicle each morning and install or repair wheelchair ramps, stair lifts, and ceiling lifts while explaining the project to customers.

You’ll gain paid manufacturer training, work independently or with a partner, and perform tasks ranging from a few hours to several days. All tools are provided, with occasional Saturday overtime.

Qualifications

• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Basic computer skills for work orders and inventory.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Background in construction, carpentry, HVAC, solar, or related trades is a plus.
• Ability to pass background check, drug test, and motor vehicle record check.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a company vehicle to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Load the company vehicle each morning and transport to job sites.
• Install and repair accessibility products like ramps, stair lifts, and ceiling lifts.
• Explain the project to customers and answer questions.
• Enter work orders and inventory data into the system.
• Receive paid manufacturer training and develop skills.
• Work independently or as part of a two-person team.
• Occasional Saturday overtime may be required.
• Tools are provided by the company.
