Job summary

Metropolitan Library Commission Of Oklahoma County is seeking an Access Specialist at East Edmond Library to assist library members with materials, accounts, and card services. The role includes guiding patrons, locating items, and supporting self-checkouts and technology.

The position is full-time, 40 hours weekly, with a starting salary of $16.62 per hour and weekend/evening shifts as needed. Candidates should be ready to work at the East Edmond Library location near I-35 and East 15th Street

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and at least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Experience with automated circulation systems preferred.
• Ability to assist library patrons and handle accounts.

Responsibilities

• Issue and receive library materials and locate books and other materials for members.
• Manage members' library accounts and issue library cards.
• Provide information about library accounts and services to patrons.
• Assist with self-service equipment and technology and basic collection maintenance.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Library Supervisor, the Access Specialist assists members by issuing and receiving library materials, locating books and other materials, managing members’ library accounts, issuing library cards, providing information about library accounts and services, assisting with self-service equipment and technology, and assisting with basic collection maintenance.

This position will be assigned tothe East Edmond Library, located at I-35 and East 15th Street in Edmond, OK.

The hiring salary for this position is $16.62 hourly. This is a full-timeposition working 40 hours per week. This position is not exempt from the federal Fair Labor Standards Act. The candidate should be available to work all hours the library is open, including some weekends and evenings and have specific availability to work Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 5:00 pm with one evening shift of 12:00 to 9:00 pm and a rotating weekend shift.*

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education and Experience:
