Access Monitor / Guard I

White Sands Missile Range, NM

Position Summary

The successful candidate will need to monitor Government Test Equipment/Property. This person’s duties involve serving at a fixed post, making rounds on foot or by motor vehicle, and/or escorting persons to various locations on WSMR Post. May help visitors and customers by answering questions and giving directions. Will ensure that emergencies and security violations are quickly discovered and reported. May include long hours, flex shifts, outdoor conditions (heat, rain, snow, wind, etc.) and some TDY when necessary. This is a surge position. Days and hours of work will vary due to requirements.

What You’ll Do
  • Monitoring activities
  • Protect controlled area(s)
  • Record names of individuals requesting access
  • Log vehicles entering and leaving site
  • Grant or deny access at various facilities and locations
  • Escorting visitors
  • Retrieve/deliver test data from and to remote site locations
  • Archive data at existing storage facilities
  • Package and prepare test data for shipping and deliver data to commercial shipping facilities
  • Prepare Compendiums of documentation for delivery to customers
  • Perform local area sweeps to ensure that personnel are free of unauthorized electronic devices
  • Operate (arm/disarm) facility IDS
  • Additional duties as assigned
Requirements And Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoW Secret Clearance
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License
  • Fluency in speaking/reading English is required
  • Must possess effective communication skills
  • Possess the ability to complete and deliver required work, with minimal supervision
  • Ability to remain focused/observant of your surroundings
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
