Job Title: Access Control Technician

Reports To: Office Manager or Franchise Owner

Key Areas of Responsibility

The Access Control Technician position is a technical role essential to the growth of the company. It is a hands-on position working directly in the field with clients. Ideal candidates will have experience with commercial access controls, wiring, surveillance cameras, hardware and software knowledge, and problem-solving skills in the field.

The technician continually learns new security industry technologies and assists clients daily. They service mechanical locks and doors and travel locally (no overnight trips) to commercial clients such as schools, manufacturing facilities, and churches to install and service electronic access systems. Requirements/Responsibilities

• Minimum 5+ years of experience with commercial access controls and CCTV systems.
• Drive company vans to inspect, install, and service access and video systems at commercial sites.
• Diagnose issues and provide solutions through service, installation, and configuration of access controls, card readers, wiring, and CCTV hardware and software.
• Utilize smartphone apps and computer software to check-in clients and process payments.
• Install, repair, and maintain access control hardware, software, and CCTV systems.
• Assist with installing locks, door hardware, and doors.
• Experience with brands such as CDVI, Zkteco, PDK, Avigilon, Brivo, OpenPath, and familiarity with credentials and biometrics like card readers, fingerprint, facial recognition, PIN pads, and HID.
• Knowledge of CCTV brands like Dahua, Hanwha, Exacq, Avigilon, Axis, Speco, and intercom systems like Aiphone, Doorbird, Speco.
• Understanding of lock hardware brands including HES, GLS, Rutherford, Schlage, Allegion, Assa, SDC, and related retrofit kits and electrified locks.
• Testing and termination of networks and wireless systems such as Ubiquiti.
• Physical requirements include lifting 50-100 lbs, climbing ladders, and physical activities necessary for the job.
• Must be fluent in English (reading, speaking, writing).
• Ability to drive company vehicles and pass background, driver license, drug, and reference checks.
