Job Title:

Access Control Technician

Reports To:

Office Manager or Franchise Owner

Key Areas of Responsibility:

The Access Control Technician position is a technical role and is key to the growth of the company. It is a hands-on technical position in the field with clients, requiring experience with commercial access controls, wiring, and surveillance camera hardware and software. Candidates should demonstrate problem-solving abilities in the field.

They will learn new security technology solutions, service mechanical locks and doors, and travel to commercial clients such as schools, manufacturing facilities, and churches to install and service electronic access systems. Responsibilities:

• Drive company vans to inspect, install, and service all commercial access and video systems.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to access controls, card readers, wiring, cameras, CCTV hardware, and software.
• Use smartphone apps and computer software to check in and process payments from clients.
• Install, repair, and maintain access control hardware, software, and CCTV systems.
• Assist in installing locks, door hardware, and doors.

Experience Requirements:

Experience with access controls, surveillance cameras, wiring, and related hardware is necessary. Specific brand experience is beneficial but not mandatory, including:

• Access Control: CDVI, Zkteco, PDK, Avigilon ACM, Brivo, OpenPath
• Credentials & Biometrics: card readers, smartphones, fingerprint, facial recognition, PIN pad, HID
• CCTV: Dahua, Hanwha, Exacq, Avigilon, Axis, Speco
• Video & Audio Intercoms: Aiphone, Doorbird, Speco
• Lock Hardware: HES, GLS, Rutherford, Schlage, Allegion, Assa, SDC Controls, retrofit kits, magnetic locks, electrified trim and crash bars, electrified strikes, handset locks, Schlage NDE, Alarmlock
• Networks: testing and termination
• Wireless: Ubiquiti

Physical & Other Requirements:

• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Ability to lift 50-100 lbs
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles
• Ability to climb ladders and perform physical tasks required by the job
• Pass background, drug, driver’s license, and reference checks
