Job summary

University of California, Riverside is actively seeking two Access Control Mechanics to support the Facilities Services team on a 4/10 schedule (4 days per week, 5:30am–4:00pm). The role covers journey-level access control and locksmith tasks across the campus, including installation, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of access systems and surveillance equipment.

Qualifications

• 4 years of journey-level experience in access control or locksmithing or completion of a certified apprenticeship.
• Experience repairing and troubleshooting electrical circuits up to 120 volts.
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings and building specifications.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work with a diverse campus population.
• Experience installing and maintaining surveillance equipment (IP/analog cameras, DVRs).

Responsibilities

• Install, program, troubleshoot, repair, maintain and monitor access systems and stand-alone networks.
• Coordinate with campus customers to understand needs and fulfill work orders.
• Respond to emergencies after hours, on weekends and holidays.
• Assist in preparing campus buildings for occupancy and coordinate with other trades.
