Job summary

CBX Solutions is hiring an Access Control Technician in Phoenix, AZ. You will install, configure, and service access control and video surveillance systems in commercial environments, coordinating with doors and hardware teams and field personnel.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience installing and servicing access control and surveillance systems in commercial environments.
• Familiarity with electronic hardware: card readers, strikes/maglocks, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, and IP cameras.
• Experience programming and configuring access control software (Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, AMAG, Openpath, etc.) preferred.
• Understanding of network architecture and basic IP configuration (static IP, subnet, gateway).
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications/ trade school a plus.
• Low voltage electrical license preferred or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, and troubleshoot access control systems and video surveillance components.
• Interpret shop drawings, riser diagrams, and project plans for timely field installations.
• Pre-assemble and test components prior to field installation for operational integrity.
• Pull and terminate low voltage wiring (Cat5e/6, coaxial, structured cabling).
• Coordinate with door and hardware teams for seamless integration.
• Interface with contractors and on-site personnel to ensure requirements and scope are met.
• Perform diagnostics and respond to service calls with root-cause analysis.
• Document work performed, including time, materials, and configurations.
• Ensure installations meet industry standards (BICSI, EIA/TIA) and manufacturer specs.
