Job summary

Texas Access Works is seeking a Gate & Access Control Technician in Spring, TX to install, service, and troubleshoot gate operators, cameras, and basic access control equipment. The role requires at least 1 year of field experience, strong mechanical/low-voltage skills, and a willingness to travel throughout the Greater Houston area.

The position offers regular hours Monday–Friday, with on-call rotations and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of relevant field experience.
• Some hands-on experience with gate operators and/or security cameras.
• Basic knowledge of low-voltage wiring.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Basic troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
• Willingness to learn and take direction.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to take initiative.
• Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle.
• Able to travel to job sites throughout the Greater Houston area.
• Willing and able to travel out of town when projects require it.
• Able to participate in an on-call rotation.
• Normal hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and troubleshoot gate operators and related equipment.
• Assist with installation and troubleshooting of security cameras.
• Install and service basic access control equipment.
• Pull, terminate, and troubleshoot low-voltage wiring.
• Install conduit and related low-voltage infrastructure.
• Assist with vehicle detection loops and gate safety devices.
• Perform preventative maintenance and service calls.
• Diagnose basic mechanical and electrical issues.
• Complete service documentation and jobsite photos.
• Maintain tools and materials and keep work areas organized.
• Communicate professionally with customers and team members.
• Learn new equipment and systems through hands-on training

Texas Access Works is a growing access control and parking infrastructure company looking for a motivated Gate & Access Control Technician to join our team.

We are looking for someone with at least 1 year of hands-on experience, primarily with gate systems, cameras, or low-voltage installations. We are looking for someone with a good foundation, a willingness to learn, and the ability to grow into more advanced access control and parking systems with our team.
