Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Access Control in Lansing, MI to safeguard clients at a chemical/petrochemical site and manage access control responsibilities. You will perform routine patrols, verify credentials, and maintain logs while delivering professional customer service and clear communication.

This full-time position requires a minimum of two years in security and at least one year in armed security or related fields, along with a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• At least two years of security-related experience.
• At least one year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or delivery personnel while carrying out security-related procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, access points, parking areas, perimeter areas, and operational zones, reporting unusual conditions and potential hazards.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, and directing authorized personnel in accordance with established entry requirements.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed by procedures.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, observations, and security-related concerns accurately in required reports and shift logs.
