Job summary

Allied Universal in Maspeth, NY is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Access Authorization to monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access and respond to security concerns at a government facility.

You will provide courteous service to employees and visitors, uphold site policies, and report incidents with clear documentation while maintaining a professional presence and readiness to act to deter incidents.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a government transportation facility by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry credentials, maintain visitor logs, and direct guests in accordance with established site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access areas, building entrances, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required records related to access-control activities, incidents, and unusual observations.
