Job summary

Allied Universal in Irvine, CA is seeking a Security Officer for Government Building Access Control. You will patrol, monitor access, and deliver customer service while maintaining a professional presence. This full-time swing shift role supports critical site protection and rapid incident response.

The position requires relevant security experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to pass background checks and a drug screen where law allows. Competitive pay and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be performed per federal/state/local laws.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply; driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, helping to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports and communicate observations to site management and Allied Universal leadership.
