Job summary

TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital is seeking an Access Associate to support Labor & Delivery, Admitting, and Emergency Department registration teams. The role also manages the admissions board and secures CMS compliance signatures.

The position is part-time with a 20-hour week, night shift, and holiday rotation. You will handle scheduling, registration, and customer service while contributing to a supportive, high-energy team environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years customer service experience required.
  • Ability to operate multiple computer applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Typing speed of 35 wpm.
  • Medical terminology required within first year of employment if not already taken.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule physician-ordered tests and coordinate registrations per department guidelines.
  • Educate patients on required paperwork and financial counseling.
  • Collect copays, deposits and deductibles; direct questions to appropriate staff.
  • Follow scripting and maintain professional, empathetic interactions with patients and coworkers.

Job Overview:

Performs Scheduling or Registration functions in a timely and accurate manner: working with TH ancillary departments to coordinate care and communicate with patients and physicians/offices to obtain information necessary to schedule and/or register patients. Provide excellent customer service and answer patient questions and resolve issues. Collect of copays, standard deposits and deductibles. SCHEDULING: schedule physician ordered tests in accordance with department guidelines; correlate medical diagnosis with ordered tests/procedures for medical necessity purposes that is required to receive reimbursement. REGISTRATION: educate patients on TH required legal compliance paperwork and provide financial triage (can properly direct patient with financial questions and explain concepts of insurance).
