Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic is seeking an Access Associate for the Admitting department in Clifton Springs, NY. This per diem position involves greeting patients, check-in/check-out, and coordinating appointments with a warm, patient-centered approach.
Responsibilities include registration, insurance verification, precertification where required, and collecting payments. The role requires strong customer service and communication skills and intermediate computer proficiency.
As an Access Associate, you will be responsible for many administrative support duties, such as greeting patients, performing check-in and check-out procedures and processing payments. This position requires a warm and inviting disposition, as you will be the first point of contact for our patients and their families.

Admitting
Monday through Friday, every other weekend and every other holiday. Shifts are normally 7am-3:30pm, 3mp-1130pm, 11pm-730am, however may have different hours due to the department needs
2 year degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred. Intermediate computer skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills
Customer Service. Manage incoming calls while providing necessary information; greeting patients providing direction as needed and scheduling patient appointments. Registration & Verification. Complete the registration process for patients as defined by departmental policy; verify insurance eligibility/coverage and obtain necessary precertification/authorization when applicable. Billing & Payments. Collect and process payments when applicable
Sedentary - Sedentary roles are primarily office-based and require prolonged sitting (67-100% of the workday) with minimal physical effort and lifting limited to under 10 lbs. Fine motor skills are necessary for computer work, writing, and telephone use, supported by clear visual and auditory ability. Cognitive and emotional demands are high due to extended concentration, frequent interruptions, independent decision-making, and information processing. Although physical exposure is low, administrative areas within healthcare environments may occasionally involve contact with infectious agents. Some roles may require flexible hours, TB screening, or a valid driver's license. For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements. Any physical requirements reported by a prospective employee and/or employee’s physician or delegate will be considered for accommodations.
$17.85 - $20.00
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
