Job summary

UNH TRIO Upward Bound seeks an Academic Year Advisor to provide advising, mentoring, and college-access support to students in Manchester High Schools, Manchester NH. This part-time role is approximately 25 hours per week at $25 per hour, anticipated to run through the end of the first semester (mid-January).

The program includes in-school advising, workshops, tutoring academies at UNH, and college guidance activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or related field.
• Experience with high school students and families.
• Desire to help disadvantaged youth succeed.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
• Sensitivity and maturity with high schoolers.

Responsibilities

• Establish regular school visitation schedule.
• Coordinate with school counselors to deliver services.
• Provide academic advising, tutoring, and college guidance.
• Monitor progress and submit required records.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings and trainings.
