Job summary

University of New Hampshire seeks an Academic Year Advisor to provide advising, mentoring, and college-access support to students in Manchester High Schools. This temporary, part-time position offers about 25 hours per week at $25 per hour and runs through the first semester, with potential adjustments based on sponsor funding.

Responsibilities include direct service delivery to Upward Bound participants, coordination with school counselors, and quarterly progress reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or related field.
• Experience working with high school students and families in teaching, counseling or related position.
• Desire to help disadvantaged youth succeed.
• Ability to interact with diverse constituencies including program & UNH staff, parents/guardians, and students.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a regular school visitation schedule.
• Coordinate with target School Counselors to provide project services to participants.
• Provide academic advising, tutoring, career and college exploration, and financial aid guidance.
• Submit required records and progress summaries; attend in-office days as scheduled.
• Other duties as assigned by the project director.
