Job summary

Eastern Washington University (EWU) is seeking a dedicated Retention Specialist to lead PLUS programming across Cheney and Spokane campuses. You will hire, supervise, and train student workers while coordinating tutoring, study groups, and academic coaching to boost student persistence and graduation.

This 12-month, non-exempt role requires on-call evenings and weekends and includes generous benefits such as health, disability, retirement, and tuition waivers.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling, education, English, psychology, social work, sociology, or related fields from an accredited institution.
• Experience coordinating university programs that provide academic services to multiple participants.
• Experience using university educational best-practices to promote student success.

Responsibilities

• Oversee implementation, coordination, and evaluation of PLUS programming (academic coaching, study groups, tutoring, and specialized programs).
• Recruit, hire, supervise, train, and evaluate student employees (undergraduate/graduate).
• Design and implement academic success strategies curriculum for PLUS and CRLA training for staff.
• Manage day-to-day delivery of academic services and analyze student trends to forecast quarterly needs.
