Job summary

Management & Training Corporation operates the Sierra Nevada Job Corps Center in Reno, NV. We seek an instructor to deliver career technical training per approved curricula and guide students toward their technical goals with instruction and mentorship.

You will develop lessons, assess progress, and maintain a safe training environment while collaborating on program compliance reports. A high school diploma and NCCER/AWS/ASME certification are required, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification by NCCER or AWS or ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel code.
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide students with direction, instruction, and assistance in designated areas of instruction.
• Motivate and counsel students in behavior, training, personal problems, or study habits.
• Develop and prepare lessons in accordance with approved curriculum guidelines.
• Review and audit areas for contractual compliance and delivery effectiveness; prepare related reports.
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe training environment.
• Participate in student assessment panels and document evaluations.

What you will be doing:

You'll be responsible for the career technical training instruction per approved curricula. They will provide training and basic guidance and direction to help students achieve their technical training goals.

Essential Functions

• Provide students with direction, instruction, and assistance in designated areas of instruction.
• Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems, or study habits.
• Develop and prepare lessons in accordance with approved curriculum guidelines, recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials.
• Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports.
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe training environment.
• Participate in student assessment panels, perform required documentation and evaluation using CIS (Center Information System) and other documentation systems.

Education And Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified by NCCER or AWS or standard established by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Boiler and Pressure Vessel code.
• A valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
