Stony Brook University invites applications for a board-certified/board-eligible pediatric surgeon to join the Division of Pediatric Surgery at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. The appointment will be at Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor depending on experience.

Stony Brook Children’s Hospital is a premier regional center with ACS-verified Level I trauma care, a 46-bed NICU, and a broad team of pediatric specialists.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
• Completion of an accredited pediatric surgery fellowship.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Surgery.
• Eligibility for NY medical licensure and DEA registration.
• Commitment to excellence in pediatric surgical care, professionalism and education.

Responsibilities

• Provide operative and nonoperative care for infants to adolescents with pediatric surgical conditions.
• Participate in inpatient, outpatient, operative, consultative duties and on-call responsibilities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary pediatric care teams and subspecialists.
• Engage in multidisciplinary conferences, quality improvement and program development.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents in OR, inpatient and outpatient settings.
