Job summary

The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Geriatrics & Palliative Medicine, invites applications for full-time assistant professors to join as Academic Palliative Medicine Physicians.

Appointees will oversee inpatient palliative care consults, participate in embedded clinics across Chicagoland, and lead interdisciplinary team meetings while teaching trainees and pursuing scholarly activity.

Qualifications

• Medical doctorate or equivalent required.
• Current or eligible for Illinois medical licensure.
• Board Certified or Eligible in Hospice & Palliative Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients on inpatient palliative medicine consultation service.
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary patient care within embedded clinics at main campus or other Chicagoland locations.
• Lead interdisciplinary team meetings and conduct home hospice visits.
• Teach and supervise trainees and students; engage in scholarly activity.

Education

MD/DO (Medical Doctorate)

Illinois medical licensure

Board Certification/Eligible in Hospice & Palliative Medicine
