Job summary

Vanderbilt Health seeks a pediatric pain physician to join Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. The role encompasses the Multidisciplinary Assessment of Pain Clinic for youth with chronic pain and a physician-only clinic offering interventional procedures and medication management.

The team includes pain physicians, psychologists, OTs, PTs, and CRNAs. Mentorship, academic time, and leadership opportunities are emphasized in a supportive academic setting.

Qualifications

• Pediatric pain medicine experience required.
• Board-certified (or board-eligible) in Pain Medicine.
• Fellowship trained in Pediatric Pain Medicine preferred.
• Eligible for unrestricted Tennessee medical license.

Responsibilities

• Join Multidisciplinary Assessment of Pain Clinic for youth with chronic pain.
• Provide interventional pain procedures and medication management.
• Collaborate with pain psychologists, OTs, PTs, and residents.
• Participate in the Acute Pain Service as part of the team when applicable.

Job description

Job Requirements: Candidates must have clinical experience in pediatric pain medicine and be eligible for an unrestricted medical license in Tennessee. Candidates must be board-certified (or board-eligible) in Pain Medicine. Preferred candidates are fellowship trained in Pediatric Pain Medicine and board-eligible anesthesiologists or physiatrists. Other specialties may be considered as well.

Job Description: We are seeking a pediatric pain physician to join our team at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, a freestanding, nationally-ranked academic hospital associated with Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Faculty will join the Multidisciplinary Assessment of Pain Clinic, which provides comprehensive interdisciplinary care for youth with chronic pain, with an emphasis on functional restoration. The team currently includes one pain physician, two pain psychologists, two OTs, and two PTs. Faculty will also have their own physician-only clinic to offer additional services, including interventional pain procedures and medication management.

Faculty board-certified in pediatric anesthesiology can also join a team of 25 pediatric anesthesiologists, working in a care team model with exceptional fellows, residents, CRNAs, and NPs. Candidates may also join the Acute Pain Service, which provides regional anesthesia and inpatient pain consultations.
