Job summary

Albany Medical College seeks fellowship-trained Obstetric Anesthesiologists at all ranks to join our obstetric anesthesia faculty as we expand care for the obstetric population. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in an academically focused environment within the Capital Region's only academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (or equivalent) required.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency.
• Fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesiology required.
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure.
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, or foreign equivalent recognized by the ABAS.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for obstetric patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists.
• Participate in or initiate clinical research projects and scholarly activity.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, L&D nurses, and perioperative team members to optimize outcomes.
• Mentor trainees and junior faculty in professional and academic growth.

Education

MD or DO degree (or equivalent)
