Job summary

Albany Medical College's Department of Anesthesiology seeks fellowship-trained Obstetric Anesthesiologists at all ranks to join our obstetric anesthesia faculty as we expand care for obstetric patients at our center, a collaborative, academically focused environment and the Capital Region's only academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center.

Delivery rates exceed 2,500 annually with more than 50% high-risk/MFM cases.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (or equivalent).
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency.
• Fellowship training in Obstetric Anesthesiology (required).
• Eligible for New York State medical licensure.
• Board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, or foreign equivalent recognized by the ABAS.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality anesthesia care for obstetric patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Deliver didactic and hands-on instruction for residents and medical students.
• Participate in or initiate clinical research projects.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, residents, L&D nurses, and perioperative team members to optimize outcomes.
• Mentor trainees and junior faculty in professional and academic growth.

Education
