Job summary

Albany Medical College's Department of Medicine seeks a full-time Academic Nephrologist (Assistant or Associate Professor) to join our Division of Nephrology and Hypertension. The role includes inpatient consults, renal transplant services, outpatient hemodialysis, and a strong academic environment with teaching and research opportunities.

You should be eligible for NY licensure, board-certified or eligible in nephrology, and committed to mentoring trainees.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent degree with board certification or eligibility in Nephrology.
• Demonstrated clinical expertise in nephrology subspecialty care.
• Strong commitment to medical education and mentorship.
• Interest or experience in clinical research is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient consult and teaching services.
• Participation in renal transplant services.
• Outpatient hemodialysis patient care.
• Hypertension referral clinic.
• Comprehensive chronic kidney disease outpatient program.
• Robust academic environment with opportunities to teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Opportunities to develop or participate in clinical and/or translational research.
• Collaborative, multidisciplinary care model with APPs, nurses, and support staff.
