Albany Medical College in New York's Capital Region is seeking a full-time Academic Nephrologist (Assistant or Associate Professor) to join our Division of Nephrology and Hypertension. This role includes inpatient consults, renal transplant involvement, and outpatient hemodialysis and CKD clinics.

This position emphasizes medical education, mentorship, and opportunities for clinical and translational research within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent degree with board certification or eligibility in Nephrology.
• Demonstrated clinical expertise in nephrology subspecialty care.
• Strong commitment to medical education and mentorship.
• Interest or experience in clinical research is highly desirable.
• Eligibility for faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in New York State.
• Dedication to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient consult and teaching services.
• Participation in renal transplant services.
• Outpatient hemodialysis patient care.
• Hypertension referral clinic.
• Comprehensive chronic kidney disease outpatient program.
• Robust academic environment with opportunities to teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Opportunities to develop or participate in clinical and/or translational research.
