Job summary

Eckerd Connects in Pittsburgh, PA is hiring an Academic Teacher to deliver instruction in designated subject areas, tutor students, and promote a positive classroom atmosphere to maximize motivation.

You will maintain attendance records, collaborate with Academic, Pre-College and Career Technical Training areas, and ensure compliance with background checks and drug screening as required by policy.

Salary Range: $45,000 to $47,000

Duties & Responsibilities

• The Academic Teacher performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instructions in designated subject area.
• Tutors and conducts other projects prescribed by Academic, Pre-College and Career Technical Training Areas.
• The Academic Teacher promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to insure maximum student motivation.
• Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting in order to insure maximum learning.
• Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport.
• Utilizes all possible curriculum resources available.
• Maintains student personnel folders.
• Records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records area.

Qualifications

• Certified to teach in state of Pennsylvania.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.
• Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
